July 29, 2017 - Week 1

HOLA A TODOS

First few days down. Saturday is my p day while I'm here for the next 6 weeks, so please email me before Saturday or today and I should be able to respond!!

Not gonna lie, it's been a little rough but I know deep down that means it's been awesome. I woke up this morning and started screaming my favorite hannah montana song so i feel bad for my roommates, or they loved it which im sure they did. It's crazy that I'm actually the one writing these emails now, I'M A MISSIONARY! Spanish has been awesome. I'm really loving learning it all and taking it in. My companions are great, but very quiet. As you all know i am not very quiet lol but we are making it work, one is from the Philippines and I'm in a trio so the other is from the Marshall Islands. I love them. Hermana Miole (from Philippines) is very full of the gospel and loves exact obedience and working hard so that's beneficial for me. Sister Nebo is trying to learn English and Spanish so we're doing what we can to help her out. Shes receiving her endowments today so we get to join her in that!

The food is pretty gross lol I've felt sick twice now, it just does some wacky stuff to your stomach that's for sure. But we got to exercise today!!!! It was awesome, I love exercising, calms my nerves and it's pretty much my saving grace.

Class is fun, my district is still getting to know each other but it's a great experience. There are so many missionaries here, the MTC has never had this many missionaries here at once in history. It makes getting the "delicious" food almost not even worth it cuz the lines are so crazy.

Spiritually, it's been hard to really build up my testimony when I have to learn such basic things and in Spanish, it's definitely a reminder though to me that I need to focus on all the simple little things if I want my investigators to really focus on those things too. We've talked and studied a lot this week about families and how much the gospel strengthens them, I encourage you all with your families to read even just one scripture a night. It invites the spirit and i know it will bring peace to your home and bring you all closer together.

Here's some pictures, one with Sister Hendrickson from st George and she's awesome, and one with my compaƱeros!

I love you guys from the bottom of my heart and thank you again for all of your love and support. I'm praying for you guys.

Hermana Peterson
